MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is a splice variant of IGF-1 expressed locally in skeletal muscle following mechanical loading or damage. The synthetic peptide includes a unique 24-amino-acid C-terminal extension absent in systemic IGF-1, giving it distinct receptor-binding behavior.
